The goals of the Volunteer organization Donk Humanitarian Medicine concern the Right to Health and making sure that everyone, including the destitute and fragile, has access to medical care. Our volunteer association provides free medical care to those who, for various reasons, don’t have a health card and don’t have access to the territorial emergency services.

We are also committed to informing people on the activities of volunteering.

To reach these goals it’s important to unite by creating a solidarity network that also includes the associations that operate on the Julian March territory and throughout Italy.

In January our volunteers Linda and Francesco welcomed in our office the President of Fernanda Torre, the project manager Benedetta Pisani and Marina Galati from the Turin chapter of the association Il Pulmino Verde.

Pulmino Verde is a volunteer association committed to achieving the integration of people. For example, they organize Italian and civic education courses for the migrants, they help in a refuge near the border where they distribute clothes and basic goods and they also talk about Freedom of Movement.

You can learn more about their activities by clicking here: https://www.ilpulminoverde.it/

They decided to come to Trieste and to contact the volunteer associations committed in favor of the fragile and the destitutes, including the Volunteer organization Donk Humanitarian Medicine, to better understand the migrant situation in the city and to continue the visit by going to the places touched by the Balkan route.

The meeting was very stimulating thanks to the exchange of experiences and the establishing of new relationships with associations complementary to the activity of the Volunteer organization Donk Humanitarian Medicine.

Thank you Pulmino Verde for your visit!
