In March 2024 we activated on the platform Rete del Dono the first crowdfunding of our association.
Until this day we raised 489€, about a quarter of the final goal, from the people who believe in our activity of medical volunteering and are personally committed to support it.
The volunteer organization Donk Humanitarian Medicine has been active since 2012, over time we have visited more than 15.000 people and assisted fragile people, destitutes, homeless people and those who, for various reasons, have difficulties to access the national health service.
Often those who arrive in our clinics present physical wounds, but also disorders affecting the emotional and psychological sphere, due to the emergency conditions in which they live or the traumatic experiences lived in the past.
For our volunteer doctors and nurses being trained and ready to meet the needs of these people is necessary, by offering support that embraces more areas thanks to the help of experts.
The volunteer organization Donk Humanitarian Medicine takes care of younger people and their psychological well-being, by providing the unaccompanied foreign minors a psychologist and a cultural mediator, who deal with post traumatic disorders and illnesses such as depression and anxiety while taking into account of the language and the cultural aspects of the person before them.
The crowdfunding is active until the 31st of May 2024, there is still a month to achieve our goal. You too can support the training of doctors, nurses and volunteers of the volunteer organization Donk HM and psychological support for the unaccompanied foreign minors.
