“Vite abbandonate: rapporto sulla situazione e i bisogni dei migranti” was introduced on Thursday the 15th of June at the Circolo della Stampa of Trieste. The document summarizes the activities of first reception carried out during the course of 2022 and it also provides a picture of the arrivals of migrants on the territory of Trieste.

The report was written by Rete solidale di Trieste, made up of different associations that operate in favor of the most vulnerable and of the destitute in the regional capital.

The volunteering organization Comunità di San Martino al Campo, Diaconia Valdese, the volunteering organization Donk Humanitarian Medicine, ICS – Ufficio Rifugiati Onlus, International Committee Italia and the volunteering organization Linea d’Ombra have participated to the drafting process of the report.

The gathered data allows us to have clearer statistics on nationality, age, family composition and on the migratory intention of those who arrived in Trieste in 2022.

Representing the volunteering organization Donk Humanitarian Medicine at the presentation were some of the volunteers of our association. In conclusion of the presentation a moment was dedicated to allow the representatives of the five involved realities to make their comments on the subject. Another moment was dedicated to answering the questions from the audience. Giovanna Cornelio and Andrea Collareta intervened as Donk’s representatives. Andrea made the following comment regarding the event:

“Compared to a couple of years ago a positive collaboration was created between the associations that operate in Piazza Libertà. It is remarkable that there was a high participation rate to the event, with a lot of young people attending as well.” said Andrea as soon as the meeting ended.
