The Volunteer organization Donk Humanitarian Medicine works daily to ensure free health care for the fragile: the destitute, the homeless and those who walk the Balkan route.

To help our volunteer doctors and nurses provide healthcare services able to meet both physical and psychological needs, we have decided to use our platform Donk Network to give training courses. We believe that continuous updating is essential to have the appropriate tools to deal with the different situations that can manifest themselves.

The e-learning tool enables us to provide specific content remotely, for example cross-border healthcare; mediation of conflicts in the health sector; how to manage post-traumatic disorders through their identification and what practices are good for proper patient support. These contents are also available to all operators who work in reception centers and reception communities for unaccompanied foreign minors.

In order to do all this we need everybody’s help, including yours!

On the Rete del dono platform we have created a crowdfunding in order to financially sustain the training of volunteer doctors and nurses. The fundraiser also helps sustain psychological support services for unaccompanied foreign minors (UFM), thanks to the work of a psychologist specialized in post-traumatic disorders (which might manifest as depression and anxiety) together with a mediator who manages the linguistic and cultural part.
